As you can see, our lake and related matters are my favorite subjects...

the ones I have ever done...

The statue of Saint Carlo Borromeo, born in Arona in 1538, and located at the top of an hill behind the town from where you have a nice view of the southern part of the lake. It is about 23 m / 75 ft high plus 12 m /40 ft of granite pedestal, entirely made of bronze and cupper: it the second highest world statue after New York statue of Liberty and it was completed in 1698.
